Big Second Quarter Leads Yale Past Le Moyne

Brandau, Krevsky each score three goals as Bulldogs roll

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – It took the Yale men's lacrosse team a bit to find its rhythm against Le Moyne. After one quarter, the score was tied at 3-3. From there, it was all Bulldogs. Matt Brandau and Max Krevsky each had hat tricks as Yale rolled to a 21-10 victory over the Dolphins on a chilly night at Reese Stadium.

In addition to Brandau and Krevsky, Carson Kuhl and David Anderson scored twice. Johnny Keib, Thomas Bragg, Cole Cashion, William Sheehan, Peter Moynihan, Logan Soelberg, Kevin Kuttin and Patrick Hackler all had one goal. Kuhl added three assists.

The second quarter. Yale scored the first eight goals of the quarter. Krevsky led the onslaught with three goals. Brandau, Bragg, Keib, Monfort and Soelberg each had one goal during the 8-0 run. Le Moyne got the final goal of the quarter, but the Bulldogs were in command with an 11-4 lead at halftime.

Yale outshot the Dolphins 52-32 and won 25-of-35 faceoffs. Machado Rodriguez won 11 of his 14 faceoffs. 

"I'm pleased to get a win on a Tuesday night. It's never easy," said Andy Shay, The Forst Family Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "For the most part I thought we were efficient and clean."

• The Bulldogs reached the 20-goal mark for the second time this season. They beat Colgate 21-11 on Feb. 21 in the second game of the season.

Michael Alexander and Eric Platten each had two caused turnovers.

• Brandau now has 173 career goals, which is one shy of Ben Reeves' (2015-18) school record.

• Yale outshot Le Moyne 17-3 in the second quarter
