Brandau Earns Two Weekly Honors

Set a school record with 13 points in win over Colgate

Men's Lacrosse 2/26/2024 - Tim Bennett

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Following a record-breaking 13-point performance in a victory over Colgate, Matt Brandau has been named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week and The Lacrosse Network Player of the Week.

In last Wednesday's 21-11 win over the Raiders, Brandau tallied six goals and seven assists to set a school record for points in a game. Ten of his points came in the first half, and he then scored the first two goals of the third quarter. The record-breaking point came on an assist on a Max Krevsky goal late in the third quarter.

The 13 points broke the Yale mark of 12 set by Jason O'Neill (4 goals, 8 assists) against Adelphi in 1990. Brandau fell one point shy of the Ivy League record (Princeton's Michael Sowers, 2019) and three points shy of the NCAA record (Air Force's Bill Woolford, 1975).

After two games, Brandau leads the nation in points per game (9.50) and assists per game (5.50).

In addition, Patrick Pisano, who had 10 ground balls and three caused turnovers, was named to the Ivy League Honor Roll.

The Bulldogs (2-0) are back in action on Saturday when they play at Penn State at noon.
