NEW HAVEN, Conn. – It was a big Saturday afternoon for Chris Lyons, who scored seven goals and added an assist in Yale's important 16-10 victory over Brown at Reese Stadium. That performance helped him earn a pair of weekly honors. He was selected as the Ivy League and Lacrosse Network's Player of the Week. Lyons scored five of his seven goals in the first half as the Bulldogs rallied from an early 4-1 deficit to take a 9-8 halftime lead. He then scored a pair of goals in the fourth quarter to help seal the victory. Lyons, who is on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, is second in the Ivy League with 41 goals and third nationally with 4.10 goals per game. He is being honored by the Ivy League for the second time this season. The first came after he scored nine goals in Yale's season-opening victory over Penn State. The Bulldogs, who have won three straight games, play at Albany on Friday at 7 p.m.
