Pisano tallied five ground balls and four caused turnovers in win over Villanova

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Patrick Pisano sure made the most of his first career start for the Yale men's lacrosse team. Pisano, a sophomore, contributed five ground balls and a team-high four caused turnovers in helping the Bulldogs to a 13-11 victory over Villanova in their season opener on Saturday at Reese Stadium. That performance earned him Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Pisano, who appeared in two games last spring as a rookie, came to Yale from Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y., where he was a two-time All-American at Cold Spring Harbor High School.

Matt Brandau, who scored two goals and added four assists, was named to this week's Honor Roll.
